The Sound of Our Skin (SOOS) Festival is launching this year on the 5th and 6th October 2024.

This festival is all about promoting racial equality, celebrating diversity and amplifying marginalised voices  With various events, exhibitions and live music taking place across multiple venues along The High Street and the Museum Quarter in Hull. A celebration of music and art, that has the power to break through barriers and connect people from all backgrounds.

As part of the festival, Black Heritage Collective in partnership with The Herd Theatre are creating a family fun play space, designed by Year 5 children from Sidmouth Primary School in Hull.

We’re working with Year 5 using art, drama and dance to come up with the ideas to create the best party ever. The children of Sidmouth will decide what decorations there should be, what music or entertainment and games audiences will find in the space.

It's our party and everyone is invited

Facilitators - Stella Munthali, Vikki Koshoni, Ruby Thompson and Sam Caseley
